Walter Cronkite was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, and is honored with museum-like exhibits in the lobby of Missouri Western State University. The university collaborated with Partners In Recognition, Inc., to realize their design vision throughout the lobby area. PIR created a unique space to celebrate the renowned broadcast journalist. One wall features backlit printed acrylic that resembles a display of televisions showcasing some of his most famous broadcasts. Additionally, an interactive monitor allows viewers to select the information they wish to see. The walls are adorned with a multitude of photos and displays that tell the story of Walter Cronkite’s life and his remarkable career journey.
