Capital Campaign Donor Recognition Display at The Skills Center!

Who is the Skills Center?

Created in 2007, The Skills Center is a sports-based youth development organization. They promote sports intentionally infused with life skills and academics. They pursue the purposeful development of young minds from ages 3 to 18.

A New Space Spawns a Capital Campaign

The Skills Center found a space to renovate to give them a permanent place to function as well as rentable space for others. This move inspired a capital campaign to raise money for their move and renovation. Their campaign – “From Now On,” was a success. They asked Partners In Recognition to design and build a recognition wall to show their donors their appreciation for their support. Partners In Recognition used their Orange and industrial-themed building as a springboard for the recognition wall design. Keywords in their mantra were used in the background panels to reinforce their values.

How Donor Displays Help Fund Your Campaign

Our clients often install their campaign display before the campaign is over – this visibility creates a sense of shared responsibility to help reach a goal. Having the capital campaign wall in a high-traffic area will generate curiosity among those who frequent the area. It’s human nature to want to see who gave to a campaign and what level of donor they might be. Someone might be inspired to donate based on the other people who have supported the campaign or might be motivated to donate at a higher level than initially planned. Either way, the fact that the donor wall is up and visible will create more support from the viewers.

Can I Add to a Capital Campaign Donor Display?

Often, a capital campaign is closed and will not require the donor wall to be changeable, but sometimes, they need to be added to even after the campaign closes. Last-minute gifts, name misspellings, changes in marriage status, or other reasons can make a permanent recognition display undesirable. So, at Partners In Recognition, we understand these realities and design changeability into our displays. For The Skills Center, the donor names are on acrylic nameplates held on by standoffs. If they need to change a name, they can order a new nameplate, remove the former nameplate, and attach the final nameplate to the base. If a name needs to be added, it’s also doable but with a little more work! New holes can be drilled into the base to accommodate new nameplates.
