Florida State University
Since 1851, Florida State University has prepared students for leadership through academic excellence, research, and service. To recognize the individuals and organizations whose philanthropy advances that mission, the University established the Vires, Artes, Mores Society The society takes its name from the Latin words for strength, skill, and character found on the University seal. It honors donors whose cumulative generosity has made a lasting impact on Florida State’s future.
To celebrate these distinguished supporters, Florida State University partnered with Partners In Recognition to create a donor society recognition display. The design reflects the prestige of the Vires, Artes, Mores Society while providing the flexibility to recognize future honorees.
A Display Inspired by Tradition and Achievement
Stretching across the wall, the display creates a balanced architectural composition with rich wood finishes, gold accents, and illuminated acrylic panels. At its center, the Vires, Artes, Mores identity introduces the recognition society, while surrounding panels celebrate donors at each giving level.
The display organizes donors according to the University’s gemstone-inspired recognition program. Colored accents identify Diamond, Emerald, Sapphire, and Garnet Society members, making each giving level easy to distinguish. Inspirational quotations printed on acrylic panels reinforce the values of the society while adding visual interest throughout the display.
Together, the warm wood finishes, gold accents, and illuminated acrylic panels create a donor society recognition display that feels timeless and complements Florida State University’s distinguished character.
Flexible Recognition with the MagTech System
Because the Vires, Artes, Mores Society continues to grow, Partners In Recognition incorporated the MagTech System throughout the primary donor recognition panels.
The MagTech System uses magnetic nameplates that staff can move, remove, and update as recognition needs change. This flexibility allows the University to reorganize donor names, recognize new supporters, and accommodate changing giving levels without replacing the display. As a result, Florida State University can maintain an organized recognition program while preserving the display’s premium materials and original design.
Elevating Major Donors with the Stand-Off System
To distinguish the University’s highest giving levels, Partners In Recognition incorporated a Stand-Off System for the major donor panels. Decorative gold stand-offs and caps suspend the acrylic recognition panels, creating a layered appearance that immediately draws attention to these significant philanthropic contributions.
The Stand-Off System mounts the panels away from the wall, adding depth and architectural interest throughout the display. Gold hardware complements the rich wood finishes and refined details, while the dimensional presentation reinforces the prestige of the Vires, Artes, Mores Society and its most distinguished donors.
Recognizing Generosity for Generations
Today, the Vires, Artes, Mores display continues to honor the generosity of Florida State University’s most dedicated supporters. The display combines meaningful symbolism, refined materials, and adaptable recognition systems into a cohesive experience. Together, the MagTech and Stand-Off Systems create a donor society recognition display that celebrates philanthropy while supporting the continued growth of one of Florida State University’s most prestigious recognition programs.
