When a company turns 125 (a quasquicentennial), it deserves more than cake and confetti – it deserves a permanent tribute that captures its spirit, celebrates its people, and inspires the next century of innovation. French Oil Mill Machinery Company, a global leader in oilseed and polymer processing equipment, chose Partners in Recognition to tell that story. The result? A museum-quality history wall that now anchors their newly renovated lobby and sparks conversation the moment employees, customers, and community partners walk through the door.
A Modern Take on Tradition
Working with just under ten feet of wall space, we set out to create a timeline that feels spacious yet immersive. Instead of the classic sepia-and-wood aesthetic of traditional history displays, this design pairs crisp whites with brushed black metal accents and floating acrylic layers. Photos – dozens of them – flow across the display and guides the eye from French Oil’s 1890s origins to today’s cutting-edge machinery. Subtle back-printing and multiple layers add depth, while a continuous blue band ties every era together. The narrative highlights the four generations of French family leadership without overshadowing the wider team. Key milestones – breakthrough patents, global expansions, and community milestones – sit alongside candid snapshots of employees on the shop floor. It’s a balanced, people-first approach that keeps the viewer engaged from the beginning to present day.
Seamless Integration with Supporting Displays
Great storytelling rarely stands alone. Our customer wanted consistency across its entire reception area. Two complementary pieces flank the timeline:

Featuring brushed black metal, dimensional lettering, and the French Oil branding colors, the display reinforces the company’s guiding principles – Integrity, Innovation, Community, and Craftsmanship.
• Lobby Identity Display
Clean, layered acrylic panels in French Oil’s signature blues and reds float on standoffs, introducing visitors to the brand at a glance.
By echoing the same color palette, materials, and typography across all three installations, the space feels cohesive and intentional – an essential ingredient in modern corporate interiors.
Crafting the Story: From Beginning to Where They are Now
Every great display starts with listening. The French Oil team came to us with a request for a History wall to be featured in the debut of the company’s new history museum, a permanent exhibit of artifacts, photographs, and machinery that helped shape the global oilseed and rubber industries.
More imagery and deeper storytelling was added to a design that felt as substantial as the company’s legacy. With each revision, the photo count grew – until every decade felt alive. Leadership wasn’t set apart, but woven into the timeline, blending family milestones into the broader story of the company and the community.
Our designers added depth with layered acrylic and brushed metal and refined the footprint, leaving clean sightlines and a comfortable margin on each side of their wall. Installation wrapped up just before the French Oil’s 125th anniversary and open house in 2025. Feedback was instant – and glowing. Employees posed for selfies, guests lingered to trace the company’s global reach, and leadership called the wall the project’s “icing on the cake.”
