Meet Chris Adams!
Hi! I’m Christina (Chris) Adams. I’m one of the founding partners of Partners In Recognition, and I proudly represent our company in Arizona, California, Utah, Oregon, and Washington. My job is to help organizations solidify their goals for their recognition displays and gather all of the information needed for our amazing art staff to design the display that will serve our clients’ needs. I’m originally from Northeast Ohio, but currently live in San Diego, CA with my husband, Tim, and our two fur babies, Poquito and Finnian.
I’ve been with PIR since the beginning, July 4, 2001. I’ve been working in this industry for 33 years. I never thought I would do anything for 33 years straight!
What is your favorite project to have worked on?
I’ve worked on way too many projects to pick a favorite. We’ve created so many beautiful displays in our 25 years. I love seeing the new designs that our art staff creates along with the amazing work our manufacturing staff do to bring those designs to life.
What is your day-to-day like at work?
I’ve worked remotely from our manufacturing plant since the beginning. My days in the office are spent on my computer and on the phone communicating with clients, potential clients, and our plant. I also have several Zoom meetings every week to discuss projects with clients. When not at home, I’m traveling to meet with clients in their office, to see their organization, and to discuss recognition location.
What is one thing that you can’t live without when working from home?
My computer! I’m so grateful that we’re now in the age of storing everything in the cloud. That means I have all of my contact management and client files available wherever I am. So much more efficient than when I first started.
What do your friends and/or family think you do all day?
Ha! Good question. There really isn’t an easy elevator speech for what we do unless I’m talking to a development person. My standard line goes something like, “We design and manufacture custom recognition displays. (after receiving a somewhat blank stare) Have you ever walked into a hospital and seen a wall recognizing the donors that support the institution? We make those walls. My job is to create relationships with nonprofits of all sorts so that they know where to go and how to contact us when they need recognition.”
What is your favorite way to unwind after work?
Walking down to our local spot for a pint. That’s where you can find us most Friday nights.
What are some hobbies that you have or activities that you enjoy?
I’m a maker. I like to sew, knit, and crochet. My favorite pastime is to listen to an audiobook while creating something new.
Do you have any pets? How many do you have? What kinds?
We have two dogs. Poquito is our 7 lb. chihuahua who rescued us. Finnian is our 17 lb. Scottish terrier/Schnauzer mix. They entertain us constantly and make life better. They also work at home sending up all alerts for delivery people especially the mailperson. Check out Poquito processing the mail!
