A Lasting Legacy: Reedley’s McClarty Center Donor Display Bridges Art, History & Design

In a beautiful tribute to legacy, art, and education, Reedley College now proudly showcases a custom donor recognition wall inside the McClarty Center for Fine and Performing Arts. This display, designed and built by Partners in Recognition honors the transformative gift made by Harold and Debbie McClarty – the largest cash donation in the history of the State Center Community College Foundation.

Honoring the McClarty Legacy

Harold McClarty, a proud Reedley College alumnus and fourth-generation farmer from Kingsburg, California, has long been a champion of community and education. His personal journey – from student to successful president of HMC Farms – fuels his passion for giving back. Harold and Debbie McClarty’s generous gift helped bring the vision of a world-class arts center to life, ensuring future students have access to enriching cultural experiences.

Design Inspired by Space and Purpose

To complement the McClarty’s story, PIR designed a recognition wall that echoes the architectural character and interior palette of the McClarty Center. Using a combination of the ClearTech System and Clear Change System, the display blends clean transparency with layered dimensional elements.

Freestanding acrylic letters and dimensional type deliver a modern and inviting visual presence. A mix of natural and white laminates, printed graphics, and silver accents enhances readability while integrating seamlessly into the Center’s environment. This balance of style and function elevates the narrative of giving and reflects the thoughtful craftsmanship behind PIR’s custom recognition designs.

Celebrating Arts, Education, and Community

The McClartys’ commitment extends beyond a financial gift – they advocate for the enduring power of art and education. “Art is, after all, an expression of our triumphs and flaws – it is what makes us human,” said Harold McClarty. The display serves not only to honor generosity but to inspire future generations of students, artists, and community members to continue shaping Reedley’s cultural landscape. The McClarty Center also acknowledges the land’s Indigenous roots, recognizing the Yokuts, Choinumni, Mono, and Wuckchumni people who have lived – and continue to live – on the land that Reedley College now occupies. This land acknowledgment is part of the broader narrative, showing respect for history and community as essential parts of the campus’s ongoing story.
