Meet Luke Kuenning!
Hey all! I’m Luke Kuenning, the go-to guy at Partners in Recognition. I’ve worked in many corners of the company over the years, starting out as a production artist, fast forward to laser operator and currently the in-house pressman. I’m also one of our onsite display installers as well as our acting safety director. I live in New Bremen, OH with my wife Amanda as well as our children, Nolan, Halle and Reid. We also have two doodles, Jersey and Cash. I earned an Associates degree in Advertising Arts and Marketing from The School of Advertising Art (now The Modern College of Design) in Kettering, Ohio. This year will mark my 19th year with PIR!
Why did you choose this profession?
I’ve always enjoyed art and working with my hands when I was younger, which took me in the direction of art school after graduation.
If you weren’t in this profession, what would be your next choice?
I would most likely wind up in the construction or landscaping industries. I really enjoy working with my hands and the outdoors.
What does your ideal day off look like?
That mainly depends on the time of year. Late spring through fall I may be out on a lake, on a baseball diamond, working outside or starting/trying to finish projects around the house. Through the winter months, it may be hanging out with my family on the couch or shooting down a sled hill.
What is your favorite project to have worked on?
That is a tough question because we create so many unique displays. For me though, Cleveland Zoo usually takes the cake. I’ve helped to create and have done numerous installations for them. The jobs are always fun and interesting as well as always getting to work with amazing clients. The animals are neat too…

Shown above are only a few of the different donor displays that can be found scattered throughout the Cleveland Zoo. Each one is created using a system that is best suited to each campaign and built to withstand the elements around them. In addition, these displays have been designed to accent their respective areas and add more life to an already cheerful and animated area. What are some hobbies that you have or activities that you enjoy?
Attending my children’s sports and other activities they participate in, as well as trips and concerts with my wife and friends. Coaching summer travel and fall softball. I really enjoy working with kids and helping them to grow and get better at something that they love doing.

Tell us some of your favorites! (Food, Music, shows, movies, etc.)
Vacation: Orange Beach, Alabama
Food: Taco Bell and salad (what a combination).
Music: Honestly, I don’t know if there’s a style of music that I don’t like.
Shows: Whatever is on is what I’m watching, I’m not too picky.
Movies: Independence Day, Armageddon, comedies and Titanic (It gets me every time).

If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be? Why?
An Eagle named William Wallace so I could teach it to yell, “FREEDOM!”
