Tiger Woods, TGR Foundation and Cobbs Creek Foundation celebrate ribbon-cutting of Smilow Woodland TGR Learning Lab
Designing Gratitude: How TGR Foundation Honors Its Champions
Tiger Woods and distinguished guests gathered at the Cobbs Creek Golf and Education Campus in West Philadelphia to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of the Smilow Woodland TGR Learning Lab. “It’s an honor to be here to celebrate this moment with my Foundation and the kids we’re serving in West Philadelphia,” said Woods. “I’m proud of my team and grateful to Cobbs Creek Foundation and everyone who has worked with us to make an impact in this community.”
A Moment Built on Partnership
The Cobbs Creek Foundation partnered with Tiger Woods’ nonprofit, TGR Foundation , to provide educational enrichment opportunities through the TGR Learning Lab on the Cobbs Creek Campus. Built from Woods’ vision of creating a safe space for students to “learn, grow and chase after their dreams,” the TGR Learning Lab Philadelphia is the second location to be opened by TGR Foundation, the first being in Anaheim, Calif. in 2006. Throughout the celebration, guests heard about the positive impact the Smilow Woodland TGR Learning Lab is having on the lives of local students through its programming.

Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, guests and local media had the opportunity to take a guided tour of the inspiring spaces inside the Learning Lab, which include nine classrooms, a multi-purpose room, music recording and podcast studio, makerspace and Full Swing golf simulator. Learning Lab members were stationed throughout, highlighting their experiences and the programs offered. Guests also were introduced to the new “Our Champions” recognition display created by Partners In Recognition. Located just inside the main entrance of the Learning Lab, all guests are greeted by the inspiring display of community and impact.

“Our Champions” – Gratitude, Made Visible
The “Our Champions” recognition display honors donors front and center. The immersive wall of honor was intentionally designed to feel native to the interior – part artwork, part living record – so supporters are seen in the same space where students are empowered to find and follow their passions. This is updateable donor recognition that stays aligned with the Learning Lab’s daily life. The display has three intentional sections, recognizing key groups of donors. The Cobbs Creek Foundation capital campaign donors including the Smilow Foundation and Woodland family, TGR Foundation’s program supporters who invest in educational programs across the nation and the TGR Learning Lab Philadelphia’s annual supporters who are vital to the daily impact at the Lab.

Built to Evolve. Built to Last.
To keep recognition accurate and current, the wall integrates our Clear Change and Magtech Systems in one seamless presentation. Updates are straightforward: nameplates can be easily revised or added, so new champions and programs appear quickly and cleanly.
Materials That Carry the Story
Freestanding white acrylic letters create a crisp title band above warm, wood toned laminates, with dimensional, vertical black accents setting rhythm and structure. High-gloss acrylic panels add depth and light – modern lines with a human feel – so the installation reads as both art and stewardship.

Recognition That Grows Over Time
“Our Champions” was built as stewardship in motion. The adaptable donor wall protects the design while making it easy to welcome new supporters – keeping recognition aligned with TGR Foundation’s ongoing impact in West Philadelphia. At Partners In Recognition, we design recognition that reflects the heart of an organization – honoring commitment, telling a true story, and standing the test of time.
