Freestanding outdoor donor recognition display for the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.

Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor

Pacific Historic Parks has long supported the USS Arizona Memorial through educational programs, preservation efforts, and fundraising that help visitors understand the events of December 7, 1941. As part of the construction of the new USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center, Pacific Historic Parks launched a capital campaign to help fund the project and recognize the generous individuals, families, foundations, and organizations whose contributions made it possible. To celebrate these supporters, Pacific Historic Parks partnered with Partners In Recognition to create a memorial donor recognition display that complements the historic setting while providing the flexibility to recognize future contributors.

An Outdoor Display Designed for a Historic Destination

Positioned near the Visitor Center entrance, the freestanding display welcomes guests as they begin their visit to one of America’s most significant historic sites. Its clean architectural design features layered Corian panels supported by substantial columns and topped with a gently arched accent that reflects the surrounding landscape and open-air environment.

Multiple recognition panels organize donors by giving level, making the display easy to navigate while maintaining a refined appearance. The neutral palette and understated design respect the solemn character of the memorial while allowing the memorial donor recognition display to integrate naturally into the visitor experience.

Because the display stands in a coastal environment, Partners In Recognition fabricated it from durable Corian materials designed to withstand sun, moisture, and changing weather conditions while maintaining a clean appearance for years to come.

Outdoor Flexibility with the MagTech System

To support a recognition program that continues to evolve, Partners In Recognition incorporated an outdoor MagTech System into the display.

The MagTech System uses magnetic nameplates that staff can easily move, remove, and update as recognition needs change. This flexibility allows Pacific Historic Parks to recognize new supporters, adjust donor listings, and maintain accurate donor recognition without replacing the display.

For this project, the magnetic nameplates integrate seamlessly into the Corian panels, preserving the display’s clean architectural appearance while providing the adaptability needed for an ongoing capital campaign. As additional contributors support Pacific Historic Parks’ mission, staff can update the display while maintaining its organized appearance.

Recognizing Generosity for the Future

Today, the display continues to recognize the generosity of the donors who helped make the USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center possible. By combining durable outdoor materials with the versatility of the MagTech System, Partners In Recognition created a memorial donor recognition display that honors philanthropy while supporting Pacific Historic Parks’ mission to preserve and share the history of Pearl Harbor for future generations.
